Definition of the Mantra:
~ SOL-WA DEB-SO ~
This is a Supplication to our Precious Teachers both living and those from our Ancient Lineage. It is from the
text: The Preliminary Practices of the Incomparable Drikung Kagyu:
The Guru Yoga which Brings the Blessings of the Lineage: The Fourth Section of the Drikung Kagyu Ngondro. Not knowing the exact translations of the the entire supplication,
basically a practitioner is asking : "I pray to you, please look upon me with compassion. Please empower me
with the blessings. Please grant me the two actual accomplishments now. Please bestow the fruit of the effortless
establishment of the two purposes." Then a practitioner is instructed to say the entire mantra 100 times and
then to recite the short lineage prayer that follows on the next page.

The Drikung Kagyu Ngondro text was prepared for the benefit of all sentient beings as part of the Drikung Kagyu
Text Project. This project is dedicated to the translation, preservation and promulgation of the practices of the
Drikung Kagyu Lineage. This text was translated by Venerable Khenchen Konchog Gyaltshen Rinpoche with the assistance
of Michael G. Essex. Desktop Publishing by Michael G. Essex. This edition prepared February, 1994. The printing
was sponsored in part by the late Shieh Chung-Chin and Mr. Chenming Cheng.
